The very first time I ever had an acai bowl, was on the island of Aruba. It is hands down, the best thing you could eat for breakfast on the island. Between the sun and the gorgeous beach, you have this nice cool refreshing smoothie bowl in your hands. Probably the best thing to eat anywhere actually. This particular one was drizzled with peanut butter on top. (Which I do from time to time) I love my peanut butter!
However, I made this one with almond butter. Almond is the star here, actually! Almond milk, almond butter, sliced almonds and toasted almonds from my homemade granola. I love almonds. Yogurt is also a huge favorite of mine. I use it on everything. I mean, everything! In my smoothies, on my eggs, in dips, on my tacos, even in my desserts. I love Fage! I add yogurt for a nice and smooth texture. I then topped the smoothie with some of my homemade granola, fruits, coconut flakes and cocoa nibs. Feel free to top your smoothie bowl with anything you may like.
