I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but these are…the BEST salted chocolate chip cookies! I love using chocolate chips or chocolate chunks for these. You can also sub the chocolate chips for white chips! These can be made in a bowl, but you can also use your stand mixer to do all the work. Trust me, you’ll impress with these cookies!
Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound (2 sticks) of unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cane sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
- 1/4 cup flaked sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Melt 2 sticks of butter in a small sauce pan on low heat.
- In a large bowl, mix the sugars together. Once the butter is slightly cooled, add to the sugar mixture and stir vigorously for one minute.
- Whisk the egg and vanilla together and add to the sugar mixture. Stir for one minute until the mixture combines.
- Mix in flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda until just combined. Using a spatula, fold in chocolate chips.
- Using a small squeeze handle scoop, scoop out 24 evenly sized balls onto parchment lined baking sheets about 2-3 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes until golden brown edges form. Halfway through baking, sprinkle each cookie with flaked sea salt. Let cookies cool completely and serve.
